About Poppy Camp

Hello!

Poppy Camp began in the Los Angeles backyard of Karyn Raz and Matthew Lewis as a way to nurture creativity, fun, and friendship for kids.

Karyn Raz teaches art at Mirman School in Los Angeles. Previous to Mirman, she spent over a decade teaching art at New Roads School in Santa Monica, and illustrated for a variety of publications. She is a graduate of Brown University and Art Center College of Design, and recently completed her masters in Studio Art for Art Educators at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Matthew Lewis teaches English at Mirman School. He also has over a decade of experience writing on television shows such as Shades of Blue and House. Matt is a graduate of Harvard University. He loves to tap into children’s innate creativity and storytelling abilities through play.

In addition to teaching and running Poppy Camp, Karyn and Matt are proud parents to two human children and one furry child.
